SPCA Says Britney Spears' Dog Okay
The agency says the singer's dog was properly treated for a broken leg.
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA) tells ET that BRITNEY SPEARS' dog has not been mistreated.
Today, the agency said it had received written confirmation from a veterinarian that LONDON received proper medical attention for a leg injury. It added, "SpcaLA would like to thank Ms. Spears for her cooperation on this matter as well as members of the public for their ongoing concern for the welfare of animals."
After receiving several tips about possible mistreatment of the Yorkie puppy, spcaLA paid a visit to the singer's home last week.
"We got a slew of calls about her dog," SpcaLA President MADELINE BERNSTEIN says. "Some said there was a mishap and the dog wasn't treated properly. Some said the dog had a cast, so we went out to her house to check it out just like we would in any other situation."

Britney Spears slapped with hit-and-run driving charge!
LOS ANGELES: Britney Spears suffered a fresh legal setback on Friday after being charged with involvement in a hit-and-run incident following a minor parking lot scrape, Los Angeles prosecutors said.
The troubled pop princess, who was this week ordered to undergo random drug and alcohol testing as part of her custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, faces an arraignment hearing on October 10, city attorneys said.
Spears, 25, has also been charged with driving without a valid California license. She will not be required to attend next month's court hearing because the allegations are only misdemeanour counts.
The charges stem from an incident in a private parking lot on August 6, where she was captured on film by paparazzi journalists bumping another vehicle before driving off.
No one was hurt in the incident and damage to the other vehicle appeared to be minor.
